Are we really locked in a room?

Yes, everyone is locked in a room, but do not worry.  Each game is monitored on closed circuit video with audio to communicate with the Game Master at anytime.

 

Are the lights turned off?

No, the lights are not turned off.  It is more like a live version of the board game Clue.  You will be in a room that is theme-oriented and will need to search the room for clues that will ultimately lead to other clues.

 

Why would I want to do this with friends?

Why wouldn’t you want to do this with friends?  We can’t think of anything better allowing you to truly engage in a mysterious experience with each other.

Do I need a reservation to enjoy the Escape Room experience?

Yes, a reservation is necessary, and you can easily book online!

I want to do this as a celebration for a Birthday/Anniversary/Bachelorette Party and have a special message put in one of the room. Do I need to book a “Private Party” for that?

Yes, you can do this, and no, you do not need to book a private party for this.  We would love to do that for you for your special person.  All you need to do is leave the “special note or something physical” (like a ring) to use, either dropping it off beforehand or slip it to one of our employees when you arrive.  If you have a certain number of people to attend this special event, then you are more than welcome to reserve a room (either 6, 8, or 12 people) depending on the room.

We want to book more than one room during your normal business hours but noticed they start at different times? What can we do?

If you want to reserve more than one room and want to start the rooms at the same time during our normal business hours, the private party rates would apply here.  You would need to email us to set this up because we would need to block off rooms before and after your booking to ensure there are no overlapping rooms.  We do not want others finishing a room when you want to start.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as far in advance as possible to ensure your desired date and times for the room is available.  To add a reservation outside of the normal business hours, private rates will apply.

What if I am only in town for a few days and really, really want to visit?

We will try and accommodate you the best we can!

If I only have 2 or 3 people in my group, will we be placed with strangers to fill the time slot?

If you reserve less than the full amount of spaces for the room, there is a very high chance you will be placed with other people in the session.  But honestly, it is such a festive atmosphere, we think the more the merrier.  But, if sharing a room isn’t for you, you will need to buy the remaining spots for that room.

Can I bring extra people?

Yes, but you may have to book the entire room.  You can bring up to 1-4 people depending on the room.  Be sure to contact the location you are visiting, to confirm the number of additional guests that can fit in a certain room.

You simply reserve the room for the max # of people and pay for the extra guests either at online checkout or at our location before the event with credit card.  You can even go through the link to  “view booking” in your confirmation email to add additional people before your booking.

What if I need to change my reservation? What is your cancellation policy?

You can change or cancel your reservation up to 24 hours before your reservation.  For a private party, cancellations need to be made one week prior to the event.  To cancel, click on the orange link button that says, “View Booking” in your confirmation email.  There are no changes or cancellations within the 24 hour window.

How long does each event last?

The events last an hour.  There will be a briefing 15-20 minutes before the event starts so please arrive 15-20 minutes early.  This is essential!  When you arrive, you will receive a quick briefing on the game.  Then the fun begins!!  You will be placed in the room and will have 60 minutes to solve the clues and get out.  Afterwards there will be fun photos taken with props that match whether you escape the room or not.

Do I need to wear anything special?

You should wear anything you are comfortable in.  The activities you may be engaging in may involve squatting down, getting on your knees to look under something, or to get a closer look at something. If you have reading glasses, it is advisable to bring them.

What is parking like for Locked Up Live – South Bend, IN?

Parking there is adequate enough next to us all of the way to Aladdin’s Eatery.

Is the location handicapped accessible?

Yes, our locations are absolutely accessible to the handicapped.

Do I need any special prior puzzle solving experience?

No, you do not need any puzzle solving experience. You will be searching for hidden clues and related items that go with the theme of the room. If you are struggling during the event, you will be able to reach out to the Game Master who will offer you a clue to get you moving in the right direction.

What happens if I/we arrive late?

We do ask that you arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled time. This is essential to everyone’s experience, especially if you have not reserved the room to yourselves. THE DOOR TO THE ROOM LOCKS EXACTLY AT THE TIME YOU SIGNED UP FOR. You will not be permitted into the room if you are late. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR RESCHEDULING IN THIS CASE. Please always account for traffic and weather, and plan accordingly.

Can children participate?

Children actually love the games, but we do have some restrictions outlined below.

  • Anyone ages 14-17 can participate alone with a signed waiver by a parent or guardian.  This can be printed and signed ahead of time, but needs to be brought to the event.
  • Ages 6-13 must have one participating paying adult per 4 children.
  • Ages 5 and under are not to attend.

Is Locked Up Live good for Team-building, Bachelor & Bachelorette (Stag & Hen) Parties, and Unique Birthday Events in Mishawaka, Indiana - Bloomington, Indiana and Grand Rapids, Michigan?

Yes, it is great for any special occasion.  We offer good, clean fun with a small but attractive lobby and waiting area.  We can also add a personalized message in the room to make it extra fun for the person.  To do this, just include a note in the “comments section” of your reservation.

Do you have any Tips/Advice for doing your Escape Rooms?

Sure! They are listed below:

  • Not everything is a clue. If it says it’s not a clue…it really is not.
  • Separate and search! There is plenty to find.
  • Communicate and work together. If you find something, let everyone know.
  • Keep the clues out in case you need to revisit them.
  • Double check each other’s answers and searches if you are stuck!
    Also…
  • There is no need to climb on anything. All clues are at normal reach.
  • There are no clues in any lamps, electrical outlets, plugs or cords.
  • There are no clues in the windows, shades, or drapes.
  • There is no excessive force needed. If it doesn’t budge easily, it is not a clue.

Note: **WE reserve the right to refuse admittance to people appearing visibly intoxicated by alcohol or drugs. In this case, you will not receive a refund and will not be able to reschedule. We take the safety of our staff and other guests very seriously.

    1. Everyone will need to sign one. It is available on our website under the “About” section, or you can also sign it when you arrive.
