I booked two rooms with Locked Up-Mishawaka for a department mental health break. Our department broke into two teams. We all had a great time! No one was able to escape, unfortunately, but the whole team suggesting doing this again. Thank you, Locked Up-Mishawaka!
Everyone in our group really enjoyed this brainstorming adventure. Love the clues that were given and all the different lock boxes that had us puzzled trying to open. This is an experience everyone should attempt Locked Up.
Had a very good time solving Asylum. Some cool puzzles, including one of the most wonderfully disgusting (and that's a compliment!) mechanics I've ever encountered in an escape room. 👍
I hope our skin color had nothing to do with the way our group was treated. I would love someone from management to explain to me why everyone else that has been here, has had the time of their lives, and a member of our group had to be cut out of handcuffs with bolt cutters!!! We did not get our picture taken, we did not get compensated, we barely received an apology. Until you can explain how and why this happened, I'm left to think it was simply because of skin color.
Such a great time!! This escape room was very impressive and the staff were very kind and helpful. Wonderful experience all around. I look forward to coming back again soon.
I had such a great experience at Locked Up! It was a great night out with my friends and the staff was so so great. Made it a great experience for us! Go to Locked Up!
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the experience my family had at your establishment. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was far below expectations. We were not greeted upon entering, and the staff were abrasive and disrespectful, rushing us through the process with little consideration.
The experience in the escape room itself was poorly managed. The game was interrupted twice, and when it resumed, the hallway doors were left open for the entire session, allowing people to view inside and further detracting from our experience.
Additionally, there was a concerning safety issue. One of the handcuffs used in the room had to be removed with bolt cutters, which resulted in broken skin and bruising. This is a serious concern, as it not only caused physical harm but also created unnecessary distress.
We tried to make the best of the situation, but the reality is that the experience did not match the expectations set by your website. The lack of attention to safety and poor organization is troubling, and I hope you will address these issues going forward.
I would appreciate a response regarding how you plan to handle this situation and prevent it from happening to others.
This is the WORST escape room ever in America thanks to good ole Dana. On 01/18/2025 I arrived at the escape room at 3:40PM I had informed everyone who was apart of my party to arrive at 3:50PM. Because in the instructions it stated that we all needed to arrive 10-15 minutes early. It also stated everyone had to sign their waivers prior to entering the escape room. So I brought screenshots of every waiver formed signed as well as I paid for the extra person who was going to be attending. There were 13 people who showed up because this was a surprise party for my mother. My mother showed up at 4:00PM. Which I took a video of to record her expression. Some of my mother’s friends had came all the way in from Ohio. I had ordered a crown and sash for my mother to wear. Keep in mind the only person who hadn’t signed the waiver form was my mother. But we were informed on 01/12/2025 that was okay because she could sign it at the place. As we were having issues accessing my mother’s waiver forms we asked for help from Dana seemed to have an attitude. Her words were “HURRY UP WE ARE ALREADY LATE” and then proceeded to storm off. It was 4:05 After that a young lady with red hair began to help us and explain to us the rules of the game. She then proceeded to put us in handcuffs and had us divide up in teams. 10 minutes into the game the young lady came in informed us that there was pieces missing from the escape room and we needed to exit so that she could place them where she needed to. We then came back in the room and proceeded to continue on with the game. In the process of doing that one of my family members got trapped in the handcuffs. Another family member of mines tried helping her out but we were informed by a gentleman there who was an employee that with these being real deal handcuffs sometimes if you put the key in too far it will get stuck but it’s okay and that it’s normal. He also informed me it happens all the time and ensured me he would get my family member out of handcuffs. During that process I had overheard Dana yelling at one of my other family members stating how she shouldn’t have jammed the key in for the handcuffs which my family member explain to her that is not what happened. Because prior to my family member getting stuck in the handcuffs we had used that same key to unlock another person handcuff and that person didn’t get stuck. After that my family member was then removed from game. During that entire hour and 15 minutes my family member was greeted by bolt cutters of large and small size. The handcuffs were also yanked around her wrist that caused some redness as well as bruising. So today on 01/22/2025 I called up the escape room to ask if I could speak with a Manager or District Manager. I was of course greeted by Dana. I explained to Dana who I was and what I was calling about. I immediately got an attitude from her. I told Dana that we didn’t have a very good experience at the escape room and was hoping if we could talk to someone regarding her behavior towards my family. Dana then started speaking to me in a very aggressive and hostile tone. I tried reasoning with her but each time I said any word she came back with more and more attitude. I brought up what happened at the escape room, what happened on 01/05/2025 (booking the escape which was a hassle) and Dana kept dismissing and talking over me. I then heard whispering in the background and so I asked Dana if she had said something. Dana then proceeded to say “I HAVE YOU ON SPEAKER PHONE AND WE HAVE PEOPLE HERE WHO ARE DOING AN ESCAPE ROOM AND ARE GOING TO BE DONE IN 1 MINUTE AND 13 SECONDS” I then said Dana I understand that but I’m trying to inform you on what happened and how it wasn’t a good experience for us. Dana then said “OKAY AND WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT ME AND ANTONIO RUN THIS COMPANY ITS NOT A BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY”. Dana then kept yelling on the phone and before I could say anything else she hung up on me. Disgusting behavior and company.
What started out as a joyous occasion quickly turned into a tragic experience!
This venue was booked for a 45th surprise party by my daughter. She invited 12 of my closest friends and family to help me celebrate. Upon arriving, I was greeted by Dana in the most unprofessional, RBF, and nasty demeanor. She made it clear she did not want the group socialize as she hurried us along! It seemed as though she did not want our business. At one point I asked the younger lady if Dana was the owner. She replied that she was the manager.
Dana rushed us along only to forget part to add a crucial part of the clue. At one point, they game was stopped, for several minutes, while they corrected the error. No one was rude, in fact, we were all extremely understanding. This remained the case after one of the participants got stuck in the handcuffs. Her wrist were bruised and cut from the cuffs. Over 15 minutes passed and several attempts made, the cuffs had to be cut off with bolt cutters. Dana was not apologetic as a matter of fact, she seemed annoyed that she had to call a gentleman in to assist.
We were told the clock would be stopped during this tragic event but the clock continued to run. I would not recommend this establishment! If Dana is the manager, this should be reevaluated!
We tried to have a great experience for my Best Friend’s surprise Birthday Gathering but the lady manager was rude from the start. Then they had to stop our game twice, once for missing pieces and 2nd because one person in our group couldn’t get out of her cuffs; it was pretty traumatizing. It was my first time and I enjoyed the idea but there’s room for improvement regarding customer service! Management should be more intentional with having a positive attitude in order to provide the best experience.
I had a terrible time here. My cuffs were locked and the key broke while still on my wrist. I left there with so many cuts and bruises. I hope I don't get tetanus.
The ADX Florence escape room was fun and very challenging. It’s a great way to spend time with family and friends. The staff were very professional and polite and attentive. Also-One of the staff members called me to let me know that had some personal changes for the day and that the front door might be locked at the time that we were supposed to arrive. They would be there, they would just be running behind. The courtesy call was all I needed to know that it would be a great experience. -Lori
I enjoyed my first time here. A group of four of us enjoyed this challenge. We finished with 14 minutes to spare and only used one clue! It's challenging but not to the extent where it's impossible. Costly but worth it if everyone pitches in. Near restaurants and shopping. So, you can make it a well-rounded evening.
My family had an absolute blast! What a way to escape reality. Dana was great. She helped me before, during, and after. She is a gem. Can’t wait to try the next room.
This was our first experience at the new location. We did both ADX Florence and Asylum and the puzzles in both rooms were excellent with some new things we don't usually seen in the rooms.
Another great experience from the Locked Up team. We did the ADX Supermax with 6 people. I would say it was a good size group for that room. I love how detailed the rooms are. It really adds to the authenticity of the experience. We will be back again for sure.
My 12-year-old wanted to go to an escape room for his birthday. My 14-year-old has done a few for his birthdays. He was not impressed with our local escape room in La Porte county so we chose this one. The kids (ages 23 - 9) really enjoyed it. My 14-year-old said that it's one of the best that he has done. They chose the hardest one and did not escape, but we plan to go back. The hostess was very sweet, also! 😊
We have seen some with TVs in the waiting area so you can watch them. That would have been fun while I waited for them to complete it.
The lady at the front desk was sooo nice!! We have been to this location and the old location both are VERY clean and well done rooms. The only thing we wish they offered is a multi room discount like if you want to do multiple rooms in one day. Otherwise we highly recommend it & are so glad that they opened back up after moving locations!
Review for Locked Up Escape Room - Mishawaka, Indiana
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently visited Locked Up in Mishawaka, and it was a thrilling experience! Although we didn’t escape, we had an absolute blast. The staff was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, setting the perfect tone for our adventure.
The room was beautifully designed with clever puzzles that really challenged our teamwork and problem-solving skills. We faced some tough moments, but the laughter and excitement made it all worthwhile.
Even in defeat, we left feeling entertained and eager to come back for another round. If you’re looking for a fun time with friends or family, I highly recommend Locked Up!
Wonderful staff and great rooms. Definitely an experience that will be fun and challenging for people to enjoy. I did ask the rooms at the old building and look forward to doing the brand new rooms at the new location!!
New location on Florence Avenue in Granger is amazing!! We did the ADX Florence room it was very fun and just the right amount of challenging. Staff was amazing as well!:)
We had a great time with the newly opened Locked Up. ADX Florence was very immersive, the puzzles were challenging, and the design quality of the room was top notch. Definitely try them out for your next date night, party, family/friend bonding, or team building experience.
We did the Alcatraz and it was challenging but fun. We were a group of 4. We did not complete it because we ran out of time. Great customer service. Great experience. Clean and in a good location.
I took our Campus Operations team there to do the Defused Room and it was a "Blast". The teams was so into trying to figure out the clues which were hard. The game was so fun! We barely escaped with 3:41 left. The place was clean neat, nicely prepared and even when there was a glitch it our game they worked it out and did not penalize us, but paused the game for a second. I would highly recommend you bring a group of friends or coworkers here for a time of fun and exciting game time. Our team loved it. At times it was tense, but in a good way. We will be back again at some point. Thank you Locked Up Team for a Great Experience!
I took staff members here for a team building exercise and it was awesome! Destiny's Caring Hands LLC will definitely be back to do different rooms. Although we didn't escape we all had a blast! Staff was friendly and helpful. We did Taken and Speakeasy. I will just say you get the full experience in both rooms!
Such a fun and challenging experience! I have gone once for a team building activity with co-workers, and another time for a birthday party. Both times were a lot of fun. You can also go in a smaller group (like 2) and join other people in a room. the staff is helpful and clearly wants you to do your best. This was a great experience!
We had so much fun here in the Alcatraz room. The staff was friendly, really helpful (Thanks, Tristan!), and patient with our group of 12 overly-excited women. Also, not sure who decorated the place, but we were all in awe upon arrival. I can't wait to come back and try another room!
